COVID-19 update: Open Houses resume in BC

On July 7th, BC Real Estate Association relaxed its previous recommendations on Public Open Houses – IN PERSON are allowed with safety guidelines.

Although the Board announced open houses, we found that most of the major search websites are having a delay re-enabling the search — they were listing *only* virtual livestream tours available.

Don’t worry! We worked with Realtor.ca and they have now fixed the problem as of July 12, 2020. KUDOS to their support team to work this Friday/weekend when I called them! We also contacted REW.ca and they are working on getting the regular Open House searches re-enabled.

It also boasts Queen Elizabeth Park and lots of community centres full of activities like skating, swimming, and indoor sports. Coffee shops and worldly delicatessens are served wherever you may be.

VANCOUVER EAST

Vancouver West is where you can find charm and luxury. Many tree-filled neighbourhoods serve families, professionals, students, and seniors. Many excellent schools including popular private schools. University of BC, Kitsilano, Arbutus, South Granville, Kerrisdale, Point Grey, Southlands, offer both luxury and heritage. Each neighbourhood has something different to offer. VANCOUVER WEST

Port Coquitlam is nestled between growing centres of Coquitlam and Maple Ridge and has the charm of a smaller community but offers many urban amenities. Shaunghnessy street downtown provides local boutique shops and entertainment while Fremont Village provides a bustling new neighbourhood centered around a shopping district that includes the largest Walmart, Costco, Canadian Tire in the Tri-Cities. World famous natural sites like Traboulay Trails, Pitt River, Minnekada Regional Park offers lots to explore on a weekend.

PORT COQUITLAM

Port Moody's small town feel has been making it an easy choice for many Vancouverites flocking to oceanside living or picturesque living. Skytrain has also brought many residents who love to live in contempory condos and townhomes with close access to nature, waterfront trails, and urban village areas like Suter Brook. Those looking for waterfront look to Heritage Woods, Ioco, Anmore.

PORT MOODY

B.C.'s third largest city, nestled east of East Vancouver, is very central and in the heart of Metro Vancouver. It has a history of agriculture, suburban bedroom community, but is now a metro centre. Metrotown centre is one of the largest malls in Canada and newly announced investment will transform this area into Downtown Burnaby. There are 3 urban centres in Burnaby at Metrotown, Brentwood and Lougheed Town Centre and all are undergoing significant development with a large variety of condos available. Burnaby is home to Simon Fraser University on Burnaby Mountain to the north. In the centre lies Burnaby Lake and Deer Lake. Many smaller bedroom communities exist and Burnaby is known for an abundant number of 1/2 duplexes.

BURNABY

Richmond is both busy and serene. It is home to Vancouver International Airport with easy skytrain access to Downtown Vancouver. Close to the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminals and the US Border, it is a transport gateway and also a cultural and historic hub. For example, Steveston - a fishing port has Japanese history. Many parts of Richmond have an influence from its Chinese, Taiwanese, Canadian people bringing a rich tapestry of culture and cuisine. Historically many areas are a rich farming land and local strawberries & cranberries are favorites.
