DOWNTOWN EAST | VANCOUVER
Vancouver Downtown East is one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Vancouver and could be considered its historic heart. This neighbour has undergone constant change and its face is very different from its heart. This neighbourhood is one of community, compassion, and resilience. Despite pockets of this neighbourhood receiving negative attention, many areas are being revitalized with new business, restaurants, lofts, and new young professionals moving in.
There are a number of mid and high-rise developments attracting hipsters, professionals, those looking for affordable housing but close to one of the most colorful areas in Vancouver. Changes include a southern expansion of this neighbourhood to include part of the False Creek Science world and Creekside Park along Quebec Street.
There are unique options for housing here including Vancouver’s recent lofts <300 Square foot to luxury penthouses and condominums with waterfront views. A lot of the styling here is very trendy with concrete and warehouse conversions. The gastown portion of this neighbourhood offers a lot of brick decorations with art deco influences (reminds us of Montreal).
