This area is known as a popular equestrian area with over 300 horses in private stables. The river, farmland and trails make excellent natural habitat for keeping horses and their owners happy. Many bikers and runners make the scenic area their stomping grounds as well. The Southlands riding club is a non-profit society that serves nearly 400 riders of all ages and includes an indoor arena, covered area, and outdoor rings for dressage, jumping, cross-country, and stabling.
