Metro Vancouver is a regional district (MVRD) of 21 municipalities including the major areas of Vancouver, West Vancouver, North Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, New Westminster, Coquitlam, Surrey, White Rock, Maple Ridge, Langley, Port Moody, Port Coquitlam, Delta, Pitt Meadows. Metro Vancouver is governed by a Board of Directors of elected officials from each local authority. The overall goal is for all regions to work together for a livable region.
